the darlingtonia californica is also called cobra lily and a patient but shifty ‘hunter’. when prey is trapped inside its pitcher, it offers multiple translucent false exits, but keeps the real one hidden in deflection.

a carnivorous plant which looks like a venomous reptile. animal attitude meets stillness in motion. polymorphren makes the beat a fly, the bass a trap and hides the exit in deflection.
